Unit 2 Collective Bargaining Agreement

Based on the general salary increase of 2.75% for all members of Unit 2, the health supplement and other benefits included in this Memorandum of Understanding, the BOARD of Directors of CASE recommends that all members voting in the box vote “yes” to ratify the provisional agreement. If the provisional agreement is not supported by a majority of members with the right to vote, the terms of the expired Memorandum of Understanding, which does not contain additional money, will remain in force. Below you will find a summary of the main terms of the provisional agreement: CASE has concluded an interim agreement with the State on a one-year follow-up Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”). This statement of intent is intended to provide our members with tangible short-term benefits, while giving CASE and the state time to examine the serious problems facing state lawyers and find long-term solutions to those problems. In short, it is a substitute agreement that allows us and the state to continue negotiations without the members of Unit 2 suffering an increase in health care costs without a salary increase, while the negotiation process continues. Special salary adjustments: Despite our efforts, the state refused any adjustment of special salaries for this one-year declaration of intent. All SSAs, including the alignment of judges` salaries with lawyers` salaries, the absurdly low entry salary salary and PUC ALJ salary adjustments, will be renegotiated in just a few months, when we resume negotiations for the next contract. Committee for the Improvement of Family Leave: CASE and the state recognize that family vacations are a critical topic for our members. The delays inherent in collective bargaining have prevented CASE and the state from finding a solution to the shamefully low family leave currently proposed. In order to overcome the barriers of collective bargaining, CASE and the state agreed to establish a joint employment committee to examine options to improve family leave benefits that might require worker funding through monthly wage deductions.

CASE will be looking for volunteers from among the members who work on this committee. Use the menu below to select another unit and view its pricing agreement and other materials. Duration of the contract: the duration of this Memorandum of Understanding is one year, from 2 July 2019 to 1 July 2020. The case bargaining team worked hard to get the state to accept this one-year contract, as the state`s offers for the CEECs in the longer term were only aimed at institutionalizing the wage deficits of the members of Unit 2. . .
